Roll Design Dominates Rounds 5&6 Quad X Pro Podium

Fallbrook CA 7/14/2011 –Dustin Nelson (#94) overalls both Rounds 5 & 6 in the Quad X series held at Glen Helen Raceway. Beau Baron (#549) breaks Nelson’s Moto win streak with 1^st Moto win of the season.

Round #5 and #6 of the Quad X series was held at the famous Glen Helen Raceway July 9^th and 10^th in Devore, California. The Glen Helen racetrack is one of the roughest and toughest tracks on the west coast. Known for its treacherous square edge holes, sandy soil, acceleration and deceleration bumps, and huge jumps; suspension setup is key to winning at the Glen.

Round 5 – Dustin Nelson and Beau Baron would continue their 2011 QuadX battle for the top 2 spots throughout the weekend. In Moto 1 on Saturday, Baron grabbed the holeshot and never looked back, to take his first Quad X moto win of the season. With this win, Beau would break the streak of Nelson’s undefeated Moto wins through the first 4 rounds of the Quad X series this year. Moto 2 would once again play out with Baron and Nelson once again banging bars early on. Dustin Nelson grabbed the win and the Overall for round 5 on Saturday with a 2-1 finish to make it 5 for 5 overall wins for the season so far. Roll Design / Elka dominated the podium at round 5 with Nelsons Yamaha teammate Josh Row in the 3rd place spot overall with a 5-3 overall. Garrin Fuller also took 1^st in the Pro Am class.

Round 6 - The double header weekend continued on Sunday for Round 6. Dustin Nelson’s and Beau Baron would once again put a show on for the fans as the top ran an all out Moto 1 and Moto 2 as if they were the only 2 riders on the track. Nelson took Moto 1 without question and Moto 2 saw Baron grab his second holeshot for the weekend. Nelson found an opening right away and took advantage of it, to once again put in a perfect 2 Motos with a 1-1 win taking the overall for Round 6, while Baron went 2-2 claiming the second spot. Sunday it was Barons Teammate MCR/Roll Design/Elka rider David Haagsma who was 3^rd fastest for the 3^rd spot on the podium with a 3-3 finish and Josh Row was consistently fast all weekend and taking 4^th on Sunday with a 4-4 for the motos. This gives Roll Design and Elka the entire Pro podium for the entire double header weekend, not to forget Duncan Racings Garrin Fuller also continued his hold on the top spot in the Pro-Am division, giving him top billing for the Pro Am racers all weekend.

The Roll Design / Elka combo once again displayed its superior quality and stability in one of the roughest tracks in the west coast [Glen Helen Raceway]. The top spots for both Round 5 and 6 of the Yamaha Quad X in the Pro and Pro – Am Classes were equipped with Roll Design A-Arms, Steering components and Elka Shocks.

WORCS and SCORE

With the Tecate SCORE Baja 500 happening the same weekend as Rd #5 WORCS series we have decided to split it up and be representative at both events. Doug Roll will be in Mexico supporting the off-road efforts of the Elka riders, and Erik Westergaard will be at the Clay Peaks WORCS event in Payette, ID. We will NOT have the trailer at the WORCS race for this round but we will be pitting out of the Hancock Racing Pro-ATV rig, and will have one of our Elka EZ-Ups to help easily locate us. We will have some limited capabilities and parts so we will be offering emergency repair services, and setup... but will NOT be servicing shocks for this round so if you need them done, please get them in now.

Save your shocks...

Shock maintenance is a necessity. Keeping them fresh with oil and seals will allow them to work as intended, but minimizing damage from debris is also a very big part of it.

Pitted shafts can cause your seals to fail prematurely, possibly costing you an unnecessary service interval. Keep your shafts protected from flying rocks, sand and more by adding shock protectors. It is the cheapest insurance you can get and is less than the cost of new shafts.

We have them in stock, so be sure to order a set to be sure you get them for your next ride or for stocking stuffers for your Elka ATV rider. We can easily add a set and install them during your next shock service as well.

Roll Design / Elka equipped riders Dustin Nelson and Beau Baron showed once again how fast they are by putting on an amazing day of racing. The 2nd moto saw Beau make a last corner charge that put his front tires along side Dustins rear across the checkered flag for a rediculously exciting finish!!

Dustin Nelson took both moto wins and the 2010 Pro 450 Production class championship (his 4th!!) with Beau Baron taking 2nd in both motos and 2nd in the championship!

Team MCR / Maxxis Dominates Lake Elsinore Pro ATV Grand Prix

MCR's Beau Baron and Davi Haagsma finished 1-2 in the 42nd running of the Lake Elsinore Grand Prix. Beau Baron got the holeshot followed by Davi Haagsma and the two MCR teamates never looked back, beating third place by just over four minutes. Darrel Patton finished third with Baja Champion Danny Prather mere seconds behind him in fourth.

After his first Elsinore Grand Prix experience, MCR's Beau Baron commented that " The race course was exceptionally fast, and truly a lot of fun. Having thousands of local fans cheering you on, while racing next to housing tracts and the 15 freeway was a very unique experience."

If winning the ATV class was not enough, in preparation for Sunday's ATV race, MCR's Beau Baron raced Saturday's Lights Expert Class on his RMZ 250 motorcycle winning the overall. Then Beau and his MCR teamate Davi Haagsma entered the motorcycle teamrace, finishing 4th overall in front of a handful of factory supported motorcycle teams.

Everybody Whiplash!!

Results are coming in from this weekends final race in the Whiplash series in AZ.

Whiplash Closed Course racing happened on Saturday with the Desert series on Sunday. Check out some of the amazing results from Roll Design / Elka equipped bikes. These results also happen to be customers of ours that we have been working with on setup during the WORCS series to help get the bikes working for each riders needs.

The Hancock Racing / LKH Farming team was out in full force with Matt Hancock and Joshua Edwards. The team absolutely killed it with 4 wins and 4 Championships!

Saturday: Matt went 1-1 for the overall in ATV Open Expert and took home the 2010 ATV Open Whiplash Closed Course Championship! Joshua took the overall win in the Open Pro

Daniel Parker #79 and Reed Ribotta #479 have been working closely with us on getting a setup that works well on the LT-R for the West Coast racers. Daniel went 1-1 on Saturday in the ATV Vet Pro class and took 2nd behind super-fast Pro John Shafe in Sundays Desert race. Reed went 2-2 for a 2nd overall in the 30+ Novice on Saturday and took the win in Sundays desert race in the 30+ Novice!
